How Amazon’s Delivery Network Could Disrupt the Package Industry — the Postal Service Included

In 2018, Amazon started offering franchises for their final-mile package delivery segment. For as little as a $10,000 investment (which could be free if you are a veteran), you could start an Amazon package delivery franchise. Within five years, this offering could dramatically change the package delivery networks as we know it — to the detriment of the USPS and the other major small parcel carriers. The competitive advantage Amazon could create could be similar to what McDonald’s built with their franchise model in the 1950s (and, notably, McDonald’s is still the dominant restaurant chain in the world).

FERC clears MISO interconnection reforms targeting recent influx in speculative projects

Washington — The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has approved Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s plan to crack down on developers testing the waters with speculative power projects that are increasingly clogging the grid operator’s interconnection queue.
