The Woodlands-based Talen Energy Corp. is considering a $150 million solar-power farm development in South Texas, according to documents filed with the Texas comptroller’s office.
Noria Hondo Solar, south of Kingsville, would be the power company’s first renewables project in the state.
Talen wants to build a solar farm with 145 megawatts of power generation capacity and 85 MW of battery energy-storage capacity, according to its application for Chapter 313 tax incentives.
