Entergy Texas Inc.’s new Montgomery County Power Station began commercial operations ahead of schedule on Jan. 1, the company announced Jan. 12.
The 993-megawatt combined-cycle natural gas power plant was expected to cost nearly $1 billion. It created approximately 1,000 on-site construction jobs, and ongoing operations of the plant will employ 31 people, Entergy Texas said Jan. 12.
