EPA will move to cut greenhouse-gas emissions from new power plants

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will quietly move forward with its first-ever limits on greenhouse-gas emissions from new power plants.
The Obama administration, which has indicated it would act to reduce climate-warming emissions such as carbon dioxide if Congress failed to do so, made the announcement in a posting to a White House website yesterday. EPA could formally propose the emission standards in early 2012, according to the agency’s website. …
